On Wednesday. 3rd April, Akris creative director, Albert Kriemler, hosted a private view of the new Geta Brătescu exhibition “The Power of the Line” at the London branch of Hauser & Wirth gallery.

Albert Kriemler presented his Akris SS19 collection, a homage to Geta Brătescu, in a runway show, followed by a private dinner at Mayfair nightclub LouLou’s.Gallerists Ursula Hauser and Manuela Wirth wore Akris SS19 for the occasion.

The exhibition features an important body of works from the past decade, during which time Brătescu focused predominantly on working with the line. Here, Albert Kriemler sees a direct connection to the creative process in fashion. «Drawing lines is at the start of a design and expresses the silhouette”, he says.
