Akris was founded by my grandmother in 1922 as an apron atelier because raising two boys was not enough for her. She was a true female entrepreneur.
To serve these women with purpose, like my grandmother, is woven into our heritage, it is the core of my work. Akris has always been about women. About independent women with a purpose who very often work in a male-dominated world. Think about championing overlooked artists like Carmen Herrera or Geta Brătescu. Think about our women with purpose dressed in Akris like Michelle Obama or Amal Clooney. Women, with an independent point of view, elegant, eloquent, self-determined, and unpretentiously cool.
I want to dress women for their lives, so they feel at ease in their power. I want to give them that feeling that when they slip into an Akris suit - you`re done. We are in a moment where this is more relevant than ever. For us modernism, functionality, versatility, and ease were never a trend. Our path hasn`t changed.”
Albert Kriemler
Founded by a visionary woman, Alice Kriemler-Schoch, Akris has been working with and for women with purpose since 1922. Albert Kriemler, Alice`s grandson, has made it his mission to empower women to walk their own path and support them to be the women they want to be.
Albert Kriemler has always had a deep understanding of the fact that strength and charisma can be enhanced and expressed through the way women dress. He has devoted his professional life to making a woman feel her best self through what she wears – determined and at ease.
The fabrics he chooses, the sleek silhouettes he designs, the tailoring he crafts, and the fashion message he communicates are all dedicated to this purpose – evolving a woman’s power and charisma.
