It All Starts with the Fabric
Sensual minimalism – that is how Albert Kriemler describes the aesthetic he creates at Akris. The feel of a fabric, such as the dense, velvety double-face cashmere, is an intuitive and essential part of his creative process. "What you wear on your skin is very important to me. I want people to feel comfortable in our clothes," he says. Only then do you understand what luxury truly means.
One Layer, Ultra-light
Double-face materials – whether wool, linen, silk, cotton, or cashmere – are crafted using an extremely fine, double-layered weave that creates two right sides to the fabric. This allows garments, like a lightweight jacket to be made from a single layer. Apart from minimal shoulder padding, there is no internal structure or lining – ensuring a perfect fit and natural drape. It is this purity of form that makes double-face pieces so quintessentially modern – and a hallmark of Akris.
Naturally Reversible
One garment, two looks. Double-face jackets and coats can often be worn differently, thanks to the fabric’s two right sides. In such reversible pieces, the collar or pockets –all functional from both sides - demand great attention to detail. The key to the desired effect lies in the minimal, almost invisible seams.
