Celebrating 10 Years of Ai

The Power of Trapezoid

While researching visual vocabulary for Akris accessories, a trapezoidal pavilion caught Albert’s eye. Built by a young Mexican architect, Tatiana Bilbao, it was recognized as one of the 17 pavilions in the Jinhua Architecture Park near Shanghai, China. In a very symbolic way, its shape spelled “A” to Albert Kriemler. The trapezoid became the logo that stays true to the understated and simple allure of The house.

Functionality is Beautiful

Akris launched the first Ai bag with horsehair in the Spring/Summer 2010 collection. The trapezoid emerged as the key visual of Akris, expressed in shape of clasps, buckles, and the silhouette of the Ai itself. 3 convertible looks: rectangular shopper, pure trapezoid tote or signature messenger.

Refinement at Its Best

The Ai introduced woven horsehair fabric as an unexpected and surprising accessories material very fitting to Albert Kriemler’s passion for unique textiles. Horsehair brought to life his dream of launching accessories. Today, the Ai is available in an array of sizes and materials.

10 Years of Ai, Introducing Aicon

In celebration of 10 years of Ai, Albert Kriemler has created an iteration of the key elements of the Ai with a new handbag, the Aicon.

The Aicon has an embossed cervo leather Ai closure creating a trompe l’oeil on the classic trapezoidal Ai bag.
