The Swiss mountains are where Akris Creative Director Albert Kriemler grew up and shaped his love for nature, craftsmanship and minimalism. Discover his strikingly modern Swiss Mountain embroidery on the statement suit of the season.
For centuries, Swiss mountains, from the Matterhorn to the Eigernordwand, have challenged the most audacious mountaineers to give their very best. For his Pre-Fall 2019 collection, Albert Kriemler took up a challenge of its own: to translate the romantic idea of the Swiss Mountains close to this hometown into a bona fide minimalist drawing with a zen serenity. In-house developed, it is meticulously stitched on the front of the Kimono jacket made of double-face, the Akris signature fabric. The result is a strikingly modern and deceptively minimalist placement embroidery wool crêpe jacket with a straight-leg pant, worn with the matching Ai bag. “This is how a modern woman wants to dress when she goes to work. Black is always the staple a business wardrobe is built upon. But then you want some charm and femininity with it.” Albert Kriemler says – and pulls it off.
